Frequently Asked Questions

If you have any questions about the retreat, please review the frequently asked questions below.

1. What if I need to sell my ticket?
Find a friend to buy your spot or use the Instagram hashtag #inalargeroomretreat to find someone to purchase your registration and accommodations.  Please notify us of the change of name.  A $5 fee will apply.  Refunds will not be granted.

2. Is it possible to change accommodations choices after I've already signed up?
Any change in accommodations choices will result in a $25 administrative fee.  Spaces are limited, and we cannot guarantee any changes.

3.  Can I bring a nursing infant?
Yes, you are welcome to bring an infant.  Moms and babies are welcome in both types of accommodations; however, the Orchard Guest rooms are the most private rooming option.  It will work best if you can come with a roommate, but if not we will do our best to pair you with another participant.

 4. Someone else in my family (not my spouse) helps homeschool my children.  Can they purchase the spouse option for retreat registration?
No, they cannot.  As fathers play an invaluable role in our home schools, the special rate for spouses is to help facilitate husbands attending along with their wives to learn more about a Charlotte Mason education.

5. Does Pearlstone accommodate special dietary restrictions?
Yes, Pearlstone's staff is happy to try to accommodate anyone who has specific dietary needs.  The list of Pearlstone's dietary accommodations include: vegan, vegetarian, pescaterian, gluten free, dairy free, soy free, nut free, allergies.  Please contact Laura Leventhal at lleventhal@pearlstonecenter.org to make special arrangements.

6. What is the policy on bringing outside food to the retreat?
Pearlstone’s kitchen and dining area operates under kosher standards.  No outside food is allowed in the main building in which the dining facilities and meeting rooms are located.  Nursing mothers are allowed to bring in breastmilk for their infants.  Snacks and a self-serve coffee and tea bar will be available.

You are welcome to bring your own food and drinks to the overnight lodging accommodations.

7. Are the accommodations close to the main retreat center?
Yes, they are a relatively close walk to the building where we will be holding meals, workshops, and plenaries.  Please refer to the bird's-eye view photo to the right.  The hotel rooms are located in the buildings marked Lodge 1, 2, and 3.
