Frequently Asked Questions

If you have any questions about the retreat, please review the frequently asked questions below.

1. What if I need to sell my ticket?
Please use the Instagram hashtag #inalargeroomretreat to find someone to purchase your tickets.  Please notify us of the change of name.  A $5 fee will apply for any changes.  Refunds will not be granted.

2. Someone else in my family (not my spouse) helps homeschool my children.  Can they purchase the spouse option for retreat registration?
No, they cannot.  The special rate for spouses relates to a strong desire and vision by our retreat team to fold fathers, especially, into our home schools.  The price is set low in order to persuade husbands to attend with their wives to learn more about a Charlotte Mason education.

3. One of my roommates dropped out of my hotel-style room.  What happens now?
Due to the accommodations pricing set by Pearlstone, if a room drops in occupancy, the remaining occupants will need to pay the difference in room costs.  Another option is to find someone to take the space of the person who needed to drop out.  The person who drops out of the room will be charged a $25 administrative fee.  Please contact us with any roommate changes.

4. Is it possible to change accommodations choices after I've already signed up?
Any change in accommodations choices will result in a $25 administrative fee.  Spaces are limited, so changes may not be possible.

5.  Where should I stay if I am bringing along an infant?

      Hotel-Style Rooms:
The most private rooming options are the hotel-style guest rooms.  You and your infant can sign up with another attendee as your roommate on the accommodations page here.  If you wish to purchase a hotel-style room at single occupancy for just yourself and your baby, you can do so for $430 (for 2 nights and all meals).  Contact us directly at inalargeroomretreat@gmail.com if you want this option.  We reserve this opportunity just for nursing moms.

Commuter Option: We are also providing the option for 50 attendees to purchase a commuter accommodations package.  These attendees will join us for the retreat and return home at night.  Click here for the commuter package.

6. Does Pearlstone accommodate special dietary restrictions?
Yes, Pearlstone's staff is happy to try to accommodate anyone who has specific dietary needs.  Please contact Laura Leventhal at lleventhal@pearlstonecenter.org to make special arrangements.

7. Can we bring in outside food into the dining area?
Pearlstone’s kitchen and dining area operates under kosher standards, and no outside food is allowed in these areas.  Nursing mothers are allowed to bring in milk for their infants.

8. I need a place to stay on Wednesday and/or Saturday night.  Does Pearlstone offer this?
Yes, we will send out information at a later date about reserving additional nights’ accommodations.

9. Are the accommodations close to the main retreat center?
Yes, they are a relatively close walk to the building where we will be holding meals, workshops, and plenaries.  Please refer to the bird's-eye view photo to the right.  The hotel rooms are located in the buildings marked Lodge 1, 2, and 3.
